A traditional Swedish apple variety, often referred to as a national cultural heritage and one of the gems of gardening. At the beginning of the 20th century, the variety was widely planted in Swedish orchards.

The fruits are characterized by an attractive appearance with a nearly porcelain-like surface and a distinctive brick-red color. The variety is mentioned in scientific studies dedicated to the resistance of apple trees to scab.
