The variety is a mutation of the Gala apple variety. The tree is characterized by moderate vigor. The fruit ripening period occurs at the end of August, 2–4 days earlier than other Gala clones.

The fruits have an intense dark red color with stripes, covering 90–95% of the surface. The fruit flesh is juicy and aromatic. Under controlled atmosphere conditions, the fruits can be stored until January-February, and in ULO conditions, until March.

Flowering coincides with the Golden Delicious variety; the variety possesses sufficient resistance to spring frosts. The yield of the variety is comparable to the original Gala variety.
