The Alnova (KI2586) variety is a mutation of the Pinova variety. Trees are characterized by medium-vigorous growth, a drooping branching habit, and a moderately dense crown with many short fruiting structures, which allows for denser planting schemes.

The fruits are medium-sized, uniform, and globular-conical in shape. The skin is covered with a bright red-striped blush over 70–75% of the surface. The yellowish flesh has medium firmness and retains its crisp texture and flavor quality during several months of storage.

The variety matures 2–3 weeks earlier than the original Pinova variety and approximately 5 days after the Gala variety. Earlier harvest dates contribute to lower susceptibility of the fruit to Gloeosporium rot.
