The variety was found or developed around 1890. The name comes from the farm of the same name, which was engaged in nursery activities and fruit growing in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. In a number of sources, the variety is considered in connection with the name Casseler Reinet.

Detailed botanical descriptions, including characteristics of plant height, maturity group, or disease resistance, are absent in open publications. The variety is included in lists of crops representing local historical heritage.
