The Kovrovoje apple variety is a naturally low-growing tree with wide branch angles. When formative pruning is applied, the crown acquires a drooping, weeping shape. It is recommended to graft the variety onto vigorous rootstocks.

The fruits are large, colored with characteristic red stripes. This is a winter variety with high yield; the fruits are suitable for storage until February. The variety possesses high winter hardiness and resistance to scab; it is recommended for cultivation in the Central region of Russia and the Central Black Earth region.
