The variety is the result of crossing Blenheim Orange and Newton Wonder varieties. Fruits have a yellow-green ground color, which as they ripen becomes covered with red stripes or a marbled pattern, complemented by a glaucous bloom. The flesh is firm, the taste is sweet with a characteristic aroma.

Harvest maturity occurs in October, fruits store until March. The variety shows good resistance to scab and powdery mildew. The plant is partially self-fertile; the presence of other pollinator varieties improves fruit set. The fruits are suitable both for fresh consumption and for culinary use.
