Trees of this group are vigorous and hardy, often with a compressed crown shape. The fruits are medium to large in size, elongated, with a depression in the middle of the vertical axis, which gives them a resemblance to an inverted pear. The skin is firm, smooth, green-yellow in color, often with red stripes and prominent lenticels.
The fruit flesh is white, aromatic, crisp, moderately juicy, with a slight acidity. The harvest takes place in October. Due to their high keeping quality, the apples are able to retain their characteristics until the following spring. The varieties are versatile in use, suitable for fresh consumption and culinary processing.
