Variety description

The fruits have a somewhat conical shape. The skin is yellow, covered for two-thirds by dark crimson stripes. The flesh is yellowish-white, juicy, with a rich spicy aroma.

The variety is independent and has no genetic connection to the Cox's Orange Pippin variety, with which it is sometimes mistakenly identified in archival documents.
