The Quemoni variety is a mutant of the Golden Delicious apple and is often sold under the Rosagold trademark. In international fruit classification, it belongs to the dessert apple group.

Scientific studies using metabolomics methods confirm the status of Quemoni as a separate clone of Golden Delicious. The variety is included in official apple variety lists in EU regulatory documents for market certification.
