The variety is a mutation of the 'James Grieve' apple tree. It differs from the original variety in the presence of darker stripes on the fruit skin and a later ripening period.

The tree is of moderate vigor, reaching 3–5 meters in height, forming a wide or pyramidal dense crown with dark green foliage. The variety possesses good winter hardiness, withstanding temperatures down to -30°C, and resistance to diseases.

Harvesting of the medium-sized fruits begins in August. The apples have a yellow-red color with a striped or marbled pattern; the fruit flesh is creamy, juicy, fine-grained, with a spicy sweet-and-sour taste.

A variety for universal use, suitable both for fresh consumption and for various types of culinary processing, including the preparation of juices, mousses, and use in baking.
