The variety originates from the Münsterland region and the surroundings of Oldenburg in Germany. It is a winter variety with a harvest period from late September to October and consumption maturity from December to March. The fruits are small to medium-sized, round or slightly conical in shape, with a greenish-yellow ground color and an intense dark red blush. The flesh is juicy, greenish-white or yellowish, with a delicate aroma.
The tree is medium-vigorous; when grown on its own roots, it can reach 10 meters in height and form wide crowns. It is characterized as a hardy variety, although data on resistance to scab, powdery mildew, and fire blight vary. A tendency toward biennial bearing is also noted.
