The tree is moderately vigorous, forming an upright spreading crown. The variety is diploid and is characterized as hardy and undemanding regarding growing conditions.

The fruits are large, flat-round in shape, and often ribbed. The ground color of the skin is green with a dark burgundy blush. The flesh is greenish, firm, fine-grained, moderately juicy, and has a sweet-and-sour taste with a wine-like undertone.

The variety is classified as a late winter type, with harvest maturity occurring in mid-October. The fruits are prone to shedding upon ripening, but they exhibit high keeping quality, remaining preserved until May or June. Historically used in cooking for preparing baked goods, sauces, and jams.
