Variety description

The variety is a more intensely colored red form of the original Holsteiner Cox variety. The plant is characterized by medium vigor and forms a wide, densely branched, spreading crown. The variety is triploid and requires the presence of other pollinator varieties for crop formation.
The medium to large-sized fruits have an intense red-orange overcolor. The flesh is firm, juicy, cream or yellowish in color, and has a sweet-and-sour, spicy, aromatic taste. A russet network often forms on the skin, especially in the stalk and calyx area.
The variety is versatile and is used as a dessert apple, as well as for culinary processing. Harvesting maturity of the fruits occurs in September, consumer maturity from October. Under proper conditions, the fruits can be stored until February or March.
