Fruits of the Vrtnica variety ripen in the second half of October and are suitable for storage until spring. At maturity, the skin turns yellow with a bright red blush on the sunny side, while the flesh remains juicy, firm, and white with a greenish tint.
The variety is a traditional heirloom variety, historically grown in meadow orchards. The fruits are characterized by a firm skin and multipurpose use, suitable both for table use and for juice production. Externally, mature fruits may resemble the Carjevič variety.
