The variety Schöner von Wiltshire (synonym Weiße Wachsrenette) is an autumn variety. Harvesting begins in October, consumption maturity is reached one month later, and fruits can be stored until March–May. The tree is vigorous when young; later, it forms a large, high-rounded crown with drooping branches.

The variety has high winter hardiness and resistance to scab. The fruits are medium to large in size, flattened in shape, with smooth, waxy, yellowish-green skin that later turns light yellow, sometimes with a blush. The flesh is yellowish-white, juicy, sweet and sour, with a pleasant aroma.

The fruits are for universal use: they are used as table apples and are suitable for cooking and juice production. Other varieties, such as Benediktbeurer Wachsrenette, Werdersche Wachsrenette, or Reinette de Champagne, may also be found under the name Wachsrenette.
