The tree is vigorous, forms an upright, spreading canopy, and bears fruit on spurs. The variety is triploid and therefore requires cross-pollination with other varieties. The flowers are sensitive to late spring frosts, and the tree itself is susceptible to scab and canker.

The fruits are large, round or flat-round in shape, with green skin that lightens to pale yellow upon ripening, sometimes with a slight blush. The flesh is firm, coarse-grained, juicy, and has a tart taste. The variety is culinary and intended for making sauces, purees, and baking, as the fruits break down easily during cooking.

The harvest period falls at the end of September; the fruits retain their consumer qualities from September to December.
