The variety is considered very ancient, presumably known since the Roman Empire, with a documented history since the beginning of the 17th century. The tree forms a small-sized crown. Due to very late flowering, the variety possesses high adaptability to regions with a risk of spring frosts.
The fruits are small, flattened in shape, with a very short stalk. The skin is yellow-green or orange-red, often with visible lenticels. The flesh is cream-yellow, firm, juicy, and fine-grained, with a rich flavor. Harvesting of the fruits takes place in October; they are suitable for long-term storage.
The variety is a dessert type, suitable for culinary use and cider production. It is characterized by high resistance to scab.
