Variety Jim Brian, also known as Du Toit Brian, was obtained as a result of breeding work. Fruits of this variety are characterized by firm flesh and an obloid-conical shape. Under cold storage conditions, the variety is capable of maintaining its quality for two months.
In scientific literature, the variety is used as an object for comparative characteristics of apple trees, and is also used in phytosanitary studies when testing planting material for the presence of viruses and viroids.
