The KD 4 rootstock is a specialized form of apple tree obtained during the breeding work of O. K. Dyadchenko. Research and trials of this form were conducted at the Krasnokutsk Experimental Station of Horticulture.

This rootstock is intended exclusively for use in fruit growing as a base for grafting cultivated apple varieties. The main objective of breeding the KD series of rootstocks was the selection of forms with varying growth vigor for the needs of commercial horticulture.
