The variety is a mutant obtained by exposing the classic English variety Lord Lambourne to gamma rays. The tree is characterized by moderate growth, or weak growth when using dwarf rootstocks. The crown has an almost spherical shape with medium density and moderately drooping branches.
The fruits are medium-sized, round or flat-round in shape, and covered with a diffuse dark red blush. The flesh is crisp, tender, and juicy, with a pleasant sweet-sour taste. The harvest ripens in the second half of September, and the fruits maintain quality until December–January.
The variety is characterized by early, high, and regular bearing, for which fruit thinning is recommended. The plant shows low susceptibility to scab and is resistant to powdery mildew, but is sensitive to late spring frosts and gummosis.
