The variety is a perennial plant cultivated as a medicinal and aromatic crop. The optimal harvesting time for raw material is considered to be the mass flowering phase. The flowers are small, pinkish-purple in color, gathered in spicate inflorescences; the flowering period occurs in July–August.
The plant has a bright, refreshing aroma and a sweetish taste. The essential oil content in dry raw material can reach 1–2%. The variety propagates well by rhizome segments, prefers sunny areas with fertile, well-drained soils, and is characterized by high productivity.
