The plant is a low, dense sod with an elliptical, upright silhouette and a bush diameter of up to 40 cm. The leaf blades are narrow, up to 60 cm long and 1–2 cm wide, with a slight arch at the ends and characteristic yellow transverse stripes up to 2 cm wide.

The variety prefers sunny sites and moderately moist, permeable soils. It belongs to hardiness zone 6 with a frost resistance limit down to -23°C. Under European conditions, the plant does not flower.
