The plant has compact dimensions for its species. The leaves are narrow, strap-like, and arching, with an upright growth habit. The inflorescences are panicles, colored a reddish-pink shade upon emergence, which over time acquire a silvery color.

The variety is undemanding, requiring watering primarily during periods of drought. In growing conditions, covering the root system for the winter period is necessary. After dividing the clump, the plant may require several seasons to recover. It is used for ornamental purposes, including in mixed borders and near bodies of water.
