The plant has an architectural habit with drooping stems. The leaves are wide, green, change color to orange in the autumn period, and are capable of remaining on the bush throughout the winter period. The height of an adult plant varies from 1 to 1.5 meters.

Flowering begins in August with the appearance of erect flower stalks that form dense panicles of a grayish, brown, or reddish-purple color. The inflorescences possess long-lasting ornamental value.

The variety prefers sunny sites with rich, deep, and well-drained soils that remain cool during the summer period. Pruning of dry foliage is recommended at the end of autumn or after the end of winter.
