The plant is a triploid cytotype developed to create a sterile crop in order to reduce the risk of invasiveness. It forms a dense, upright clump with a height of 75 to 90 cm. The foliage is green with distinct horizontal yellow stripes.

The variety is intended for landscape design and is used as a specimen plant, in group plantings, borders, or containers. It blooms very late or not at all, and rarely sets seed. It possesses resistance to rust, lodging, drought, heat, as well as damage by deer and rabbits.
