The variety belongs to the Bright Leaf type and was originally intended for fire curing, although air curing is also applied. The ripening period is 65–70 days.

The plant reaches a height of 1.55 to 2.1 meters, has a cylindrical shape, and pink flowers. The variety is characterized by susceptibility to downy mildew.

The raw material has a mild taste, resembling the Virginia Gold variety, and contains a low level of nicotine.
