The variety belongs to the Oriental tobacco group. It possesses very high resistance to black root rot (Phytophthora parasitica var. nicotianae), which is inherited dominantly and controlled by three dominant genes. The resistance was obtained through crossing involving the S-394-5 variety, which contains genetic material from the wild species Nicotiana goodspeedii.

The variety is characterized by a short growing season, which determines its value as breeding material for the development of early-maturing tobacco forms. Detailed morphological characteristics of the plant are not presented in the scientific literature; the primary focus in publications is on its genetic traits.
