The Alfafarenca tree variety has vigorous growth, dense foliage, and an open crown structure. Large fruits have an elliptical shape with a pointed tip; during the ripening process, their color changes from green to deep black with reddish shades.
The variety is late-ripening, with harvesting beginning in January. The plant is well adapted to cultivation at an altitude of 400–500 meters above sea level and is resistant to temperature fluctuations and high humidity.
Oil from the fruits of this variety is distinguished by a high content of oleic acid and polyphenols. The flavor and aroma profile is characterized by intense fruity notes of tomato, banana, freshly cut grass, and nuts with a balanced combination of bitterness and pungency.
