The Arinoa variety is a pubescent plant with erect hollow stems and purple flowers. The seeds are kidney-shaped, their color varies from yellow to dark brown, and the thousand kernel weight is about 14.5 g.

The plant is well adapted to neutral and alkaline soils with good drainage; the variety does not tolerate waterlogging and swamping. In terms of nutritional and palatability qualities, this sainfoin is close to alfalfa and is used as a forage crop when sown in pure form or in mixtures.
