The variety is a tall plant with broad leaves and a unilateral drooping panicle. The grains have a golden-yellow color. Stem height can reach 152 cm, although some descriptions indicate lower values.
The plant is adapted to arid conditions and high temperatures, capable of growing in poor soils. The variety possesses natural resistance to typical crop diseases, but can be susceptible to damage by the European corn borer.
The primary use of the variety is for food purposes for the production of groats and flour. It is also used as feed for livestock and poultry.
