The variety belongs to the sanguineum variety. The thousand kernel weight varies from 6.7 to 7.0 g. The plant has low resistance to smut, with the level of infection in field conditions reaching 50.1–57.4%.

The variety was intended for cultivation in the Volga region and for a long time occupied significant sown areas in the Volgograd region. In competitive variety trials, it often acted as a standard for the comparative evaluation of new varieties.
