The variety was created by the method of repeated individual selection from a hybrid population obtained by crossing the varieties «Мироновское 94» and «Саратовское 853». It belongs to the mid-season group; the vegetation period is 80–90 days.

The plant is characterized by high drought tolerance and above-average resistance to infestation by the millet midge and bacterial leaf spot. The variety is plastic and is recommended for cultivation in the Forest-Steppe zone for food and feed purposes.
