The millet variety Nadiine (Nadiine) is identified as a source of genetic resistance to melanosis, a disease affecting the grain under the floral glumes. Research confirms a consistently low level of infection by this disease in plants of this variety.

Due to its phytosanitary properties, the variety is recommended for use in breeding programs aimed at developing new resistant millet varieties.
