Variety description

10 August 2026

A perennial plant forming dense turf through short rhizomes. Unlike wild forms, the variety is low-alkaloid, which increases its palatability and productivity when used for animal feed.

The plant possesses high winter hardiness, withstanding temperatures down to -34°C, and resistance to waterlogging, tolerating flooding for up to 60–70 days. Improved resistance to leaf diseases has also been noted.

The variety is used for establishing hayfields and pastures, as well as a crop for wastewater treatment and biomass production. In the first year of life, seedlings develop slowly, which requires weed control during sowing.
