The variety was obtained through interspecific hybridization using mid-early wild ecotypes from Ukraine and Lithuania. The plant is characterized by a high ability to regenerate after mowing.
The variety is resistant to leaf diseases and is suitable for cultivation on low-fertility soils of various mechanical compositions. It is perennial, tolerates temporary flooding and waterlogging, and possesses relative drought tolerance.
It is used for obtaining silage, hay, and also as a source of biomass for the production of biogas and biofuel.
