ActivePistacia vera L. · Pistachio

10 August 2026
The tree is characterized by moderate growth vigor, an upright canopy type, and semi-open branches. The variety is precocious, starting to bear fruit in the 4th year after planting. The crop matures in the first half of September. The trees demonstrate resistance to diseases and winter hardiness down to –15...–18°C, requiring 400–600 chilling hours in winter.
The fruits are medium-sized, almond-shaped, weighing 1.0–1.1 g. The shell is light-colored with a high natural splitting ability (70–80%). The kernel percentage is 53–54%. The nuts possess a sweet taste and intense green color, which makes them in demand for confectionery production.
The variety is female and requires the presence of a male pollinator plant (e.g., Randy, Peters varieties, or specialized clones). It is often grown using grafting onto UCB-1 rootstock. Potential yield reaches 3500 kg/ha with proper agrotechnical management.
