The Barkenta variety belongs to the category of past years' varieties and does not appear in current manufacturer catalogs as an active commercial product. Information about it is found primarily in archival variety lists and agronomic documents of the second half of the 20th century.

During trials in the 1970s–1980s, the variety was tested for resistance to diseases, in particular to snow mold (low-temperature basidiomycete snow mold), to which it showed susceptibility. Specific data on morphological traits or detailed quality indicators for this variety are absent.
