The «Erte» variety belongs to facultative apomicts, which ensures the ability to reproduce by seeds without fertilization while maintaining the traits of the mother plant. In breeding documentation and classifications of the 1980s, the variety was often designated as a forage type.

This variety was bred in 1971 and was included in the official lists of forage and turf grass varieties in the 1980s. In comparative studies, particularly in reports on forage grasses, the variety was evaluated based on dry matter yield indicators.
