Variety description

The variety was created through the selection of a wild ecotype collected in the floodplains of the Mituva and Nemunas rivers. The plants form a dense sward with broad leaves of a dark color.

The variety is characterized by early spring regrowth and a slow rate of green mass accumulation between mowings. It possesses good winter hardiness, disease resistance, and tolerates frequent mowing to a height of 2–4 cm.

The plant is sensitive to heavy shading and prolonged soil waterlogging. The variety is undemanding regarding soil texture; however, it is demanding of nitrogen fertilizer application and is suitable for seed production.
