Variety description

The variety is an interspecific hybrid. The maternal plant is Populus deltoides (clone 89-B-14), and the paternal plant is Populus nigra (clone 73193-97). It is a male plant intended for industrial forestry.

The crown has a semi-spreading shape; bud burst and leaf fall occur at medium or late times. The trunk is very slightly sinuous; branching is of a relatively closed type with an average frequency of branches. Growth exceeds the control variety I-214 and is comparable to the Dorskamp variety.

The wood belongs to the heavy category. Wood density at the age of two years is approximately 350 kg/m³. The variety shows sensitivity to major poplar pathogens and pests, including bacterial canker, brown leaf spot, rust, and woolly aphid.
