The variety is a clone of a natural hybrid. Its origin is linked to Italy, where it was selected by Matteo Costanzo, and subsequently tested in Hungary under the auspices of the Forest Research Institute.

This variety is classified as a woody crop intended for forestry purposes. Detailed growth characteristics, disease resistance, and wood quality parameters for this clone are not described in available publications.
