The Arno variety was bred as a result of crossing the maternal form of Populus deltoides and the paternal form of Populus nigra. The plant belongs to the group of hybrid poplars of the Aigeiros section.

This variety is a male specimen propagated vegetatively. Detailed morphological characteristics and resistance indicators are not presented in open public reference books.
