Variety description

Trees of the Selene variety are characterized by vigorous growth and form a large canopy of moderate spread. Flower buds are primarily set on 2-year-old fruit spurs. The variety is self-compatible and possesses a high degree of autogamy.

The fruits have a light orange skin color and an intense orange flesh color. The variety is distinguished by good transportability and storage duration indicators. Trees exhibit resistance to Plum pox virus; under artificial inoculation, symptoms of infection are weakly expressed.

The variety is intended for commercial cultivation both for dessert purposes and for industrial processing, including canning. The structural features of the tree canopy facilitate the convenience of performing agrotechnical work, including pruning.
