The tree is vigorous with high growth energy; the crown has a pyramidal or wide-spreading shape. The variety is early, with fruits ripening in June. Fruits are medium to large in size, heart-shaped, and have a dark red, almost black skin when fully ripe. The flesh is dark red, very tender, juicy, with a rich sweet taste.
The plant has good winter hardiness (USDA zones 4–8). It is distinguished by high susceptibility to bacterial canker and brown rot, and is moderately resistant to coccomycosis. The variety is not self-fertile and requires pollinators, while it is considered one of the best pollinators for other sweet cherry varieties.
The fruits are used for fresh consumption, making juices, jams, and canning.
