Variety description

10 August 2026

This group represents local varieties, not the result of modern breeding, and holds historical and cultural value for the Lazio region. The plants belong to local germplasm and require conservation due to the threat of extinction.

The main distinguishing feature of the fruits is their suitability for harvesting without the stem. The fruit detaches easily from it without damaging the attachment zone, which reduces the risk of crop spoilage. Within the group, there are various local types, such as Cerasa a sacco di Lariano and Cerasa a sacco di Cisterna, which differ in ripening times in June.
