Variety description

10 August 2026

The name denotes a group of local biotypes, such as Stacca di Bonnanaro and Carrufale di Bonnanaro, formed as a result of many years of folk selection and adaptation to the conditions of the region. These varieties are not breeding hybrids, but act as an important part of the agronomic and cultural heritage of Sardinia.

Due to the high genetic variability within the group, there are no uniform botanical characteristics for these cherries, such as tree height, maturity dates, or disease resistance. The varieties are valued for their organoleptic qualities and are actively used as part of regional agricultural activities.
