The variety is a product of folk selection and is included in studies of European sweet cherry genetic diversity. The self-incompatibility genotype (S-alleles) of this variety is identified as S1S5.

Specialized agronomic characteristics, such as maturity group or disease resistance, are absent in open publications. In experimental studies of the 1980s, the variety was used as a model to study the effect of growth regulators on shoot development in young trees.

The primary value of the variety lies in its use for the conservation of genetic resources and in breeding programs.
