The variety was obtained through open pollination of the Van variety. The tree has a low-vigor growth type and forms a sparse spherical crown. The fruits are large, broad-heart-shaped or rounded, with firm flesh, dark red glossy skin, and a dessert flavor.
The variety shows increased resistance to fruit rot and the fungus Monilinia laxa, moderate resistance to cherry leaf spot (Blumeriella jaapii), and the fruits are weakly prone to cracking. The flowers are sensitive to late spring frosts. The variety is self-sterile and requires the presence of pollinators, with the exception of the Kordia variety.
The fruits are suitable for fresh consumption and processing, and possess good keeping quality. The variety is suitable for cultivation in intensive orchards using dwarfing rootstocks.
