The variety is very old, presumably of Dutch origin, and was widely distributed in the XVIII–XIX centuries. The tree is characterized by medium to strong vigor and forms a wide crown. The fruits are intended for universal use, including fresh consumption and processing.

Fruit ripening occurs in July. The fruits are large or very large and heart-shaped. The skin is yellow-red with a pronounced red blush. The flesh is firm and juicy, possesses a sweet taste with a subtle tartness and aroma.

The plant is characterized by good overall resistance; however, like other sweet cherry varieties, it is sensitive to moisture levels during flowering and fruit set periods.
