Variety description

10 August 2026

The variety was obtained by crossing the Oswego and Giant varieties. The tree is vigorous, with an open, spreading crown, and is characterized by good winter hardiness. The variety is self-incompatible and requires the presence of pollinators, and the use of clonal rootstocks is recommended to improve early bearing.

The fruits are heart-shaped or round, weighing up to 10 g, and have a dark red, almost black skin. The flesh is firm and juicy, with a sweet taste. The fruits are resistant to cracking during rainy weather and to Monilinia infection, and possess good keeping quality. The variety also shows tolerance to bacterial canker.

The ripening period is late or very late, occurring at the end of the season, significantly later than many standard varieties. The harvest is primarily used for fresh consumption.
